We are now subscribing to Ancestry Library Edition, a collection of more than 4,000 genealogical databases including over 2 billion names. Ancestry provides U.S. Federal Census images and indexes from 1790 to 1930; a Map Center containing more than 1,000 historical maps; American Genealogical Biographical Index; Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage (over 150 volumes); and World War I Draft Registration Cards. We are one of several libraries within the Viking Library System subscribing to this service. Admission to our library is $5/day and the computers aren’t always available so please call ahead or take your chances by just dropping by. -Kathy Evavold

Minnesota Digital Library

April 18, 2007

I met with Marian Rengel, Outreach Coordinator for the Minnesota Digital Library Coalition, yesterday to discuss the possibility of our participation in Phase 3 of “Minnesota Reflections”. Check out the Minnesota Digital Library and specifically the images that we have submitted so far, and give us some suggestions as to which kind of images you would like to see. They are accepting images, documents and maps created through December 31, 1949. Let us know what you think of this project! -Kathy Evavold
